Villas win Grey Fox Trophy

Silverware comes to Bolton Villas and what a fantastic day it was last Sunday as Villas won the Grey Fox trophy at sunny Scarborough. With overwhelming support from our wonderful supporters Villas overcame previous winners Bradford Bhuddays in a tense but finally comfortable match. Batting first Villas started well but later had to work hard to ensure a reasonable score of 159-4 with three retirees in their 30 overs. There was a feeling that this might be 20 runs light but Bhuddays never really got going as they lost steady wickets and fell behind in the run chase. With the run rate creeping up towards 10 an over Villas finally won by 15 runs with Bhuddays finishing on 144-6. Celebrations followed with the trophy being presented to skipper John Brennan and these continued late into the night as many of our players and supporters spent a noisy night in Scarborough. A fabulous day to round off the season and well done to all players who donned the whites through the competition and a massive thank you to all our supporters!
